Moose Pass RV Parks & Campgrounds
Moose Pass has several great campgrounds operated by the Forest Service. Trail River is the largest with 91 campsites. Ptarmigan and Primrose are smaller with 16 and 8 sites. There are no hook-ups for RVs.
Moose Pass is a great basecamp for exploring the nearby trails in the Chugach National Forest. You can also rent kayaks or join a guided tour. Or, you can drive to nearby Seward (40-45 minutes) for deep sea fishing charters or day cruises into Kenai Fjords National Park.

Trail RivÂer CampÂground, at Mile 24 of the Seward HighÂway near Moose Pass, offers 91 woodÂed sites in Chugach NationÂal ForÂest. With access to Kenai Lake and the Kenai RivÂer, it feaÂtures vault toiÂlets, fire rings, and a volÂleyÂball area. SurÂroundÂed by spruce and mounÂtains, it’s a scenic base for fishÂing, hikÂing, and enjoyÂing the Kenai PeninÂsuÂla, with Seward a short driÂve to the south.
16 sites in a woodÂed setÂting. There’s a famÂiÂly friendÂly trail that leads to PtarmiÂgan Lake. It’s a sevÂen mile round trip and you’ll see sheep and goats along the way. There’s also good trout and DolÂly VarÂden fishÂing, so bring your gear.
PrimÂrose LandÂing CampÂground, at Mile 17 of the Seward HighÂway near Kenai Lake, offers 8 woodÂed sites in Chugach NationÂal ForÂest. ManÂaged by the U.S. ForÂest SerÂvice, it feaÂtures vault toiÂlets, fire rings, lake access, and a boat ramp. This peaceÂful spot is perÂfect for trout fishÂing, hikÂing the PrimÂrose Trail to Lost Lake, or enjoyÂing Kenai PeninÂsuÂla views, with Seward nearby.
